On July 15 2017 a convoy of trucks and cars pulled into a West Mosul neighbourhood. Volunteers from the One World Medical Mission and the Wasel Tasel Team had come to distribute much needed supplies to an area that had been all but cut off for weeks. As one resident told me, since the fighting had pushed past this area and into the old city the food and water had gone too and residents had resorted to eating cats to survive. 

A boy with albinism stands in a crowd of people from his neighbourhood in West Mosul awaiting aid distribution from a local NGO. Since the fighting pushed through the area and into the Old City, this was the first humanitarian aid convoy to arrive in the area in a number of weeks. 

Volunteers from a local NGO call out names of residents from a list for them to then come forward to show their identification to be cross referenced against a list they have.
